I have found that Cadel’s Energy Bars work well for me – providing sustained energy when needing it on longer rides over 50 kms. These bars seem to work better for me than many other health/energy bars I have tried. They worked magic for me in the 3 Peaks Tasmania ride in 2015 (240km and 4750m vertical).
